German Synod: Cardinal Ouellet Cracks a Joke
“God save us from a schism,” outgoing Curia Cardinal Marc Ouellet, 78, told Tgcom24.Mediaset.it (19 February).
Asked about the Germans' desire for priestly sex, Ouellet replied that celibacy was “a great gift of Christ to the Church” and that the desire for a "different lifestyles" for priests was “a sign that the Faith is being lost.”
He noted that the German Synod was exploiting homosexual abuse "to impose other ideas not directly related to it." For him, this synod is a project of fundamental change of the Church going beyond "pastoral innovations."
Francis’ homosex Synod is "less problematic," Ouellet believes. The Germans should "wait" for this synod. For him, "now" is “not the right moment” to weaken Francis by criticising him.
Ouellet didn't fail to crack a carnival joke: “People should rally around Francis and support him in his office.” Francis' main supporters are the media activists of the oligarchs.
