Bishop Condemns Migrant Boat Replacing Crib

Bologna Auxiliary Bishop Ernesto Vecchi clashed with the mayor of Castenaso, Italy, over a nativity scene replacing the crib with a rubber dinghy.

According to Catholic Herald (December 8) Vecchi said that the crib is an essential sign of Christ humbling himself.

Vecchi believes that the nativity scene must follow the Gospels “to the letter”.
