Anti-Mass Francis Wants to Visit Russian Leopards (sic)

After his trip to Mongolia, Francis wants to visit the Land of the Leopard National Park near Vladivostok, Russia, Leonid Sevastyanov, chairman of the World Union of Old Believers, told Tass.com (February 20) citing a personal conversation with Francis.

Sevastyanov explained that Francis had named to a leopard in the park Martin Fierro after the epic poem by Argentine writer and anti-immigration activist José Hernández (+1886).

Francis wanted to see “what the Russian leopard habitat looks like,” Sevastyanov said, adding that he was impressed by the park's success in restoring the population of the nearly extinct predator from 30 to nearly 150 leopards in ten years.
