Call Heard? Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Moscow expects that Pope Francis’ and Patriarch Kirill’s call to stop the mass exodus of Christians from the Middle East will receive a practical reaction in the activities of the United Nations Human Rights Council.

Fools. Pastor Robert Jeffress, leader of the influential 12,000-member First Baptist Church in Dallas said Wednesday that Republicans who have vowed never to support Donald Trump if he becomes the Republican presidential nominee are "fools." He added: “It is absolutely foolish to do anything that would allow Hillary Clinton to become the next President of the United States.”

Free to Propagate Murder? South African Cardinal Wilfrid Fox Napier took to Twitter to criticize Jesuit Georgetown University. The reason: Georgetown invited Planned Parenthood Federation of America President Cecile Richards to speak on campus this April. Georgetown defended the invitation of this propagandist of murder with the university’s commitment to “the free exchange of ideas.”

Solution: The Catholic Church in Michigan has 8,400 employees and is extending health coverage to their possible homosex partners. The new eligibility description does not make any formal reference to homosex partners, but includes them together with relatives, adult children or others.

Abramo, I haven't even known very many years what Reagan's stance was in California, so maybe I'm fooled like Trump fans today in thinking he had a genuine change of mind as president, or at least acted on his stance in accord with his position. Reagan was elected the first time I was voting age. I'm only happy candidates, this time around, can manage to utter more than one sound bite to convince us they will defend the most innocent, vulnerable. The lesser of evils isn't exactly encouraging. 🙄

@Jungerheld: I understand your point. The Republic-rats have a terrible record when it comes to abortion. Already Reagan signed as a governor in California one of the most liberal abortion laws of the United States. And I agree with you, I would be very surprised if a President Trump would do anything meaningful against abortion. His words about the criminal organization "Planned Parenthood" are …More

Uncle Joe, my beloved Michigan, the place of my birth... What place remains on the earth where, "What's in it for me?" doesn't rule the day? There is no such place, and therefore hiding is not an option.

@Abramo, since I am among those who believe no rights matter if you don't have the right to life, that's my starting point. His rhetoric IS my problem. I don't believe him when he says Planned Parenthood doing abortions is bad...but only 3% of what they do and the rest (that leaves an impressive 97%) that they do is good. I guess he'd give them, "an A." The 3% number is a lie (even the liberal …More

I don't believe him when he says Planned Parenthood doing abortions is bad...but only 3% of what they do and the rest (that leaves an impressive 97%) that they do is good. I guess he'd give them, "an A." The 3% number is a lie (even the liberal Washington Post acknowledged), counting abortion and picking up this month's contraceptives as equal "service" and if he were truly opposed to PP's abortion practices, he wouldn't repeat lies or tomorrow suggest he get a pass saying, "I didn't know." To say abortion is bad; Planned Parenthood is good pulls in lazy, "I hope so" voters from both sides. And the news will carry on forever that his support is revealing a deep fracture in the GOP. If we took him at his word, "abortion is bad," then I guess he's the most fringe conservative there is. But pressed, he will say only late-term abortion, and pressed further, he will say he approves late-term with exceptions. Now we have the likes of LeRoy - "We get around women's reasons" - Carhart boasting of beating the system and undeterred in his agenda: Men can walk away from their kids up to age 21, women should be able to do the same.
Uncle Joe
Dear Jungerheld,
.
I hope there are people like you standing in front of Illinois polling places to guaranteed Trump would slaughter the competition like he did in Michigan. 👍More

@Jungerheld: From what I read about Trump's political program (not about his private life or his rhetoric) he makes a lot of sense, so I would be interested to know, why you see him (politically) in a negative light.

Go Cardinal Napier! Please, send some of your common sense to my beloved Michigan! Regarding Trump, I will stand outside my polling location until 2 minutes before they close to give myself the best chance of not having to vote for Trump, if that's what comes of all of this insanity.
