Convicted for Offering to Consensual Dialogue on a Public Street
Bournemouth Magistrates’ Court handed down the its guilty verdict on April 4.
Tossici-Bolt offered consensual conversations about any topic including abortion and held a sign that read "Here to talk if you want" on a public street near a Bournemouth abortion facility earlier this year.
For this, she was charged with breaching the "buffer zone" around the facility. The zone prohibits "harassment," "intimidation," and "engaging in an act of approval or disapproval, with respect to issues related to abortion services."
District Judge Orla Austin is the same judge who last October found Adam Smith-Connor guilty for silently praying in a "buffer zone". She will now consider a sentence and the council's request that she pay £64,000 in costs.
The case is part of a disturbing crackdown on free speech in Britain.
