Monsignor Mauricio Rueda Beltz, 53, will be Nuncio to the Ivory Coast. He was in charge of organising Francis' trips for four years (2016-2020). Francis then sent him as nunciature councillor to Portugal. Months later, in December 2020, Rueda was called back to the Vatican as undersecretary of the Third Section of the Secretariat of State. After less than three years, he is sent to Africa which is not considered a promotion in the Vatican.
