Father Jean-Vincent Giraud, 36, has been elected the new abbot of the Benedictine abbey of Sainte-Anne-de-Kergonan, France. The abbey has seventeen monks and belongs to the Congregation fo Solesmes. An engineer by training, Giraud joined the abbey in 2011 and was ordained a priest a few months ago. Swami Abhishiktananda (Father Henri Le Saux, +1973, pictured below) was a monk of the abbey who ended up in India.

Much like other orders in the Church the Benedictines have split between liberals and traditionalists. However, I don't know much about this particular order? I think some research is needed before I pass judgment.
