Cardinal Roche, "Your Excellency Has No Authority To Allow Mass In Parish Churches"
In the name of "synodality", Francis is imposing a Roman centralism unprecedented in the history of the Church.
Last example: Cardinal Roche, the prefect for the liturgy, is telling parishes how to organise their schedule.
Peter Kwasniewski published on February 6 the transcript of a letter, that Roche sent to a US bishop invoking Canon 87 to grant a dispensation from Traditionis custodes in order to continue celebrating Mass in a parish church.
However, Roche claimed that the bishop did "not have the authority" to do so. He believes that it is his decision whether a parish church is used for Mass and whether a priest ordained after 16 July 2021 may celebrate Mass.
Roche accuses the bishop of a "defect" and "requests" him to petition for a dispensation [that will not be granted] and to provide information about the number of faithful and the strategy to lure them into the [failed] Novus Ordo.
It seems that Roche doesn't know that he has no authority to interfere in the daily life of a parish. Moreover, Francis keeps - telling us not to be legalistic, and to go beyond canon law.
