Biased Homosexual Judge

USA

Lawyers from the St. Louis archdiocese are asking Judge Lawrence Mooney to recuse himself from an appeals-court case. The case involves the dispute between the archdiocese and the rebellious parish of St. Stanislaus Kostka. Judge Mooney is an open homosexual. He once wrote to then-Archbishop Raymond Burke of St. Louis to protest “chronic abuse of gays and lesbians” by the Catholic Church. The archdiocese argues that Mooney may be biased in favor of St. Stanislaus parish, whose leaders have broken with Church teaching on homosexuality.

Chinese Communists Force Church Elections

China

China’s state-recognized bishops-- some in communion with the Holy See, and others not-- elected Bishop Ma Yinglin as president of their bishops’ council. Bishop Ma Yinglin is not recognized by Rome. His electors were forced by Communist authorities to gather in Beijing. AsiaNews reported that “ecclesial decisions are made on the basis of rigged elections”. Prior to the meeting, “all participants [received] clear indications of what to do and what to vote.”

Vatican Talks With PLO

Vatican – Palestina

The Vatican has resumed diplomatic talks with the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO). The talks are aimed at securing the legal status of Church institutions on Palestinian territory. They follow up on a “basic agreement” reached with the PLO in 2000. For years the Holy See has been engaged in separate talks with the state of Israel, hoping to establish the same sort of juridical accord. The current round of talks was held at the PLO headquarters in Ramallah. Msgr. Ettore Balestero, the Vatican undersecretary for Relations with States, headed the Holy See’s delegation.

Bishop Williamson has a New Lawyer

Bishop Richard Williamson of the Society of Saint Pius X. has a new lawyer for the court case against him in Germany. According to a German newspaper the lawyer’s name is Norbert Wingerter. He is 72 years old. In the past he has won two Holocaust cases before the German Federal Court of Justice. The court case against Williamson is based on a concept in German criminal law that bans the incitement of hatred against a segment of the populations. It is often used for trials relating to Holocaust denial, although it does not state what facts about the Holocaust need to be affirmed in Germany.

Of course the Judge should recuse himself. Since Judge Mooney is an open homosexual, it would be perfectly logical that Mooney's ruling in this case would likely be affected by his own disordered lifestyle choice.

Here we have yet another example of the culture (including the Catholic Church) being influenced by the lavender mafia.
