In an address at St. Thomas More College’s annual President’s Council Dinner, held Dec. 4 at the Harvard Club of Boston Cardinal Raymond Burke said: “The authentically Catholic university helps students resist “secularist dictatorship” by keeping Jesus Christ at the center of its mission and by exposing the moral bankruptcy of contemporary culture”. He added: “A Catholic college or university at which Jesus Christ alive in His Church is not taught, encountered in the Sacred Liturgy and its extension through prayer and devotion, and followed in a life of virtue is not worthy of the name.”

Krakow’s Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz hopes to open a new church in time for the beatification of the late Polish Pope, according to Polish reports. The Cardinal has been the longtime personal secretary to the late Pope John Paul II. Dziwisz has reportedly selected a site for the new church, near the former Solvay chemical factory where the future Pope worked as a laborer during World War II.

Church officials in Milan have installed new lights in the city’s famous cathedral. Now the stained-glass windows can be illumined from within. This provides a spectacular view from the piazza in front of the cathedral. The lights inside the Duomo di Milano were lit for the first time on December 8 to celebrate the feast of the Immaculate Conception. The windows will be illuminated throughout the Christmas season, and then on weekends and religious feast days.

At a morning press conference the U.S. attorney general said he believes the man is a member of the notorious Al-Gebra movement. He is being charged by the FBI with carrying weapons of math instruction. "Al-Gebra is a fearsome cult," the attorney general said. "They desire average solutions by means and extremes, and sometimes go off on tangents in a search of absolute value. They use secret code names like 'x' and 'y' and refer to themselves as 'unknowns'. But they belong to a common denominator of the axis of medieval with coordinates in every country, the official stated. @Abramo: yes, you are absolutely right! That particular (and most important) ruler our children get when they are babtized, but a concretic ruler that you hold in your hand, is the one I menan with the first day on school. However, your idea of saying that our real ruler is Jesus Christ was good! I'll remember that! :)

If those were the only "weapons of mass destruction", I think this little planet of us would be a lot better place to live. There must be a lot of people by the FBI who at High School didn't do more than Math 12 - at least they have no idea of Algebra! My goddness, I hope the poor fellow will get out of his high-security prison, to celebrate Christmas with his loved ones! If this wasn't so tragic,…More

But the truth is, that since 11/9, the Americans have started to see the enemy around each corner. That is not the way to get peace on the world! Calm down a little bit! A ruler is a ruler, it helps you to draw a straight line - I have meny of them in the house, and I haven't even known they're such dangerous weapons! How come every kid gets a ruler on the first day of school?
