Francis' Lenten Appeal: "Conversion to Synodality"

Francis, hospitalized since February 14, published on Tuesday his Lenten message dated February 6.

He repeats his mantra that the Church is called "to be synodal" and even calls for a "conversion to synodality". Nobody knows what "synodal" or "synodality" is.

Furthermore, Francis proposes to face the "concrete reality" of an illegal immigrant: "It would be a good Lenten exercise for us to compare our daily life with that of a migrant."

Illegale immigration is a big business for international trafficking organisations. The illegal immigrants are mostly young and strong men with mobile phones.

Francis proposes a curious 'examination of conscience' in his Lenten Message (signed Feb. 6, published today): "It would be a good Lenten exercise for us to compare our daily life with that of some migrant or foreigner, to learn how to sympathize with their experiences and in this way discover what God is asking of us so that we can better advance on our journey to the house of the Father. This would be a good 'examination of conscience' for all of us wayfarers"
