On July 10, 2025, Prevost sent a congratulatory letter to apostate gay activist Blase Cupich for his 50 years of priesthood

In the Letter, Prevost flattered the apostate Cupich, despite having desecrated the priesthood by engaging in homosexual activism in defiance of God's laws and Catholic morality. In addition, he has desecrated churches and has closed some and sold others.

Prevost congratulates Cupich, an enemy of souls who openly promotes sodomy and gay adoption, and that rewards lesbians and abortionists, an enemy of God who promotes sacrilege and false religions.

He will flatter with smooth words those who violate the covenant, but the people who are loyal to their God shall stand firm and take action.

Blase Cupich, the Archdiocese of Chicago, submitted his mandatory resignation letter to Bergoglio on his 75th birthday, March 19, 2024. But neither Bergoglio nor Prevost have accepted it.

When asked if fellow Chicagoan Robert Prevost wants to replace him, apostate Blase Cupich says they are friends and Prevost knows his thoughts, i.e., his positions.

Prevost studied at the same school where Joseph Cardinal Bernardin studied.
Cupich also reveals that Prevost was a classmate.
“Many here know Pope Leo XIV as Robert Prevost, a classmate, friend and neighbor,” Cupich said in a statement. “Our pride in him as a native son is exceeded only by our pride in his service to the People of God and to our Church.”

Michael Voris (ChurchMilitant.com), insinuated on June 25, 2021 that Chicago Cardinal Blase Cupich, was a practicing homosexual in his youth. He published a picture of Cupich with William Mulvey (Corpus Christi bishop ), during their days at the North American College in Rome in the early 1970s.
