Jednej spolusestry sa pýtala: "Sestrička, prijala ste Pána Ježiša a nezomrela ste? Prečo zomrieť?" Odpovedá jej sestra.

12.5.1333 na vigiliu Nanebovstúpenia Pána bola Imelda na sv.omši.V jej srdci horela vrúcna túžba prijať Ježiša. V čase sv.prijímania zostala v chóre sama, lebo sestry vyšli na sv.prijímanie.Nik jej nevenoval pozornosť.Sv.omša skončila, sestry odišli.
Zrazu krásna vôňa ruží naplnila ovzdušie a niesla sa po celom kláštore.
Sestry zbadajúc tento jav, vrátili sa do kaplnky, tam uvideli Hostiu vznášať sa vo vzduchu, nad hlavou Imeldy. Kňaz, ktorý práve skončil sv.omšu, prišiel s paténou v ruke a Hostia mu zostúpila na ňu.
To bol očividný znak, že Ježiš chce prísť do srdca Imeldy. Kňaz a sestry uvideli veľké svetlo a pochopili, že Imelda by mala prijať po prvýkrát Pána Ježiša. Kňaz podal Hostiu Imelde a ona naplnená láskou, upadla do extázy a odišla do spoločenstva s Kristom.
Na jej náhrobku sú vytesané slová: ZOSNULEJ SESTRE IMELDE LAMBERTINI BOLA ZOSLANÁ Z NEBA HOSTIA, KTORÚ JEJ PODAL KŇAZ. V roku 1826 bola vyhlásená za blahoslavenú. Jej neporušené telo sa nachádza v Boloni, v kostole sv. Žigmunda. Aká je tvoja túžba po Ježišovi na omši? Keby si vedel že je tam Boh, bol si na omši každý deňa prijal jeho sv. telo.

Som veľmi vďačná, že na ten kameň vytesali aj spôsob akým prijala danú Eucharistiu a môže si to každý prečítať. Nepotrebovala nič omacávať ani chytať do paprče.
