Dominican Father Joseph Tran Ngoc Thanh, 40, was stabbed to death on Saturday while hearing confessions at a church in Kontum, Vietnam. He was slashed twice in the head and died in hospital at 11:30 pm despite immediate treatment. Father Joseph was the seventh child of his family. Born on 10 August 1981 in Saigon, he was ordained a priest on August 4, 2018. The assassin is said to be a psychopath, but no further information is available.
