The Dominican Fathers in Tralee, Ireland, hand out Holy Communion in their Holy Cross church through a plastic opening, reports TraditionInAction.org (July 26).
This invention is a tribute to the coronavirus regime. The hole was designed by the Prior, Father Joe O'Brien (right picture).
This, at least, re-introduces an appropriate separation between the sanctuary and the faithful - albeit for the wrong reason.

Woman Takes Over Offertory In Bishop‘s Mass (Video)
San Diego Bishop Robert McElroy, 66, USA, presided Pentecost Mass facing a big computer screen which connected people via video-stream.
This turned McElroy's Eucharist into a Zoom-conference. The Mass was co-presided by Auxiliary Bishop John Dolan and Vicar General Michael Pham.
McElroy went as far as incensing the computer screen. The screen-population said the general intercessions.
During the offertory, McElroy sat down, and a woman in alb took over. She performed the "offertory" which - luckily - in the Novus Ordo is abolished.

Fr Ragheed Ghanni - Shot dead when he refused to close his church
On June 3, 2007, Trinity Sunday, the Sunday after Pentecost, Fr Ragheed Ghanni was killed along with three subdeacons including his cousin in front of Mosul's (Iraq) Holy Spirit Chaldean Church where he was parish priest.
Fr. Ragheed had just finished celebrating the Sunday evening Mass. The three deacons had recently decided to accompany Fr. Ragheed because of threats against his life.
After Mass as he was walking away from the church with the 3 deacons and the deacons' wives, the group was stopped by unknown armed men.
One of the gunmen shouted at Fr. Ragheed that he had warned him to close the church and demanded to know why he didn't do it.
Fr Ragheed replied asking "How can I close the house of God?"
The gunmen ordered the woman to flee (the wives of the deacons who were with them).
Then the gunmen demanded that the four men convert to Islam - they refused and were shot dead.

In a 2016 letter written by a priest of the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX), he beseeches Fellay, then-superior general, to come clean about the Society's involvement with Fr. Frédéric Abbet, SSPX, convicted by a Belgian court of child sex crimes and sentenced to five years in prison.
"I know the reputation of the Society is at stake and that the condemnation of one of its former members will be negative for it," wrote the priest, "but it would be much more harmful in the long term to learn that authorities in the Society have all attempted to exonerate a former member, to the detriment of the justice due to the victims."

100 Chicago Churches to Hold In-Person Services Sunday
Several Chicago area churches held in-person Sunday services in defiance of Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s (D) stay-at-home orders.
Pastor Florin Cimpean of the Philadelphia Romanian Church of God in Ravenswood said he expected around 50 to 60 people to attend services, which was about 10 percent of the congregation on a regular Sunday, according to ABC 7.
“The church is a spiritual hospital, okay. We help people with their spiritual needs, emotional needs. And this church is much safer than any other open space like Home Depot, Costco, any type of store,” he commented.
Cimpean, who grew up in Soviet-controlled Romania, added that the church served an immigrant community that survived communism in the past and felt it was threatening their freedoms once again.
“All of these restrictions, they sound more like communism,” he said at an event outside the Thompson Center on Thursday.

Coronavirus: About 10’000 Catholic Parishes Apply for Government Loans
A quarter of Protestant congregations and more than a third of Catholic parishes in the U.S. successfully pursued loans under the Small Business Administration’s Pay-check Protection (PPP) Program, Npr.org (May 6) writes.
Of the approximately 17,000 U.S. Catholic parishes, about 10,000 applied for PPP loans. Of those, 6,000 had their applications approved. About 3,000 additional parishes have been notified that their applications were accepted in a second round.

Selective Love of Mankind: Bishop Refuses PiusX
The Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX) in Altötting, Germany, asked Passau Bishop Stefan Oster on April 28 for the temporary use of a bigger church to be able to adapt to coronavirus distancing rules.
Under coronavirus regulations, the PiusX chapel is too small for the eighty faithful. However, Oster denied the plea citing unspecified “fundamental considerations”. Gloria.tv has seen the answer.
Yet, Oster allows schismatic and heretical groups to use Catholic churches in Altötting. Protestants hold their funerals in St Michael, and the Russian-Orthodox celebrate in St Josef.

A "crisis committee" of St Joseph parish in Bottrop, Germany, decided to preside Eucharist again beginning on May 10th.
In order to comply with iron "hygiene rules," wooden bars with notches at appropriate distances were manufactured for the hosts.
The faithful must wear a mask and bring their own hymnal.
A prerequisite for participation is a prior personal registration by telephone, which is only possible at certain times and on certain days.
The chairman of the parish council, Roberto Giavarra, told NeuesRuhrWort.de (10 May) that the feedback from the faithful "fell far short of expectations".
