O delicado e profundo documentário da SWR retratou a rotina diária dos monges trapistas do mosteiro de Mariawald, nas proximidades de Düren no Eifel (Alemanha) e foi exibido no dia 22 de março de 1959, um dia após a festa de São Bento.
A Abadia de Mariawald tem certa relação com nosso mosteiro: em meados do século XIX, Pe. Franz Pfannner, deixou Mariawald e fundou um mosteiro em Banja Luka, na Bósnia, no qual entrou nosso fundador Atanásio Merkle em 1905. A comunidade de Mariawald, no entanto, foi dissolvida em 2018.
