91 Catholic scholars, mostly journalists and writers, have rallied up behind StopTraditionisCustodes.org.
The website published a September 8 statement asking Francis to abrogate Traditionis Custodes and to restore the Roman Mass.
“We will not let anyone deprive the faithful of this treasure which is first of all that of the Church,” they write without revealing how they will do this.
Among the signatories are editors and journalists of LifeSiteNews.com, CatholicCulture.org, CrisisMagazine.com, CatholicFamilyNews.com, RemnantNewspaper.com, the French politician Philippe de Villiers, the famous German novelist Martin Mosebach, and Henri Sire, the author of "The Dictator Pope. The Inside Story of the Francis Papacy" (all names below).
However, Francis has said that laws [like Traditionis Custodes] may not be obeyed in a blind way because this would be legalism.

Met Traditionis Custodus heeft paus Franciscus een schisma veroorzaakt in de Rooms Katholieke kerk en zijn Traditionele tegenstanders beginnen nu de besluiten van het Tweede Vaticaanse Concilie, waar een vloek op ligt, te vernietigen. He cannot do as he likes and is thereby able to oppose those people who for their part want to do what has come into their head. His rule is not that of arbitrary power but that of obedience in faith. That is why, with respect to the liturgy, he has the task of a gardener, not that of a technician who builds new machines and throws the old ones on the junk-pile.
