Accusations Against Famous Jesuit Artist

The worldly Slovenian Jesuit and highly decorated artist, Father Mark Rupnik, 68, based in Rome since 1991, has been accused by a consecrated woman of psychological and sexual violence, writes SilereNonPossum.it (December 1).

• Rupnik created the mosaics in Redemptoris Mater Chapel (Apostolic Palace), in the basilicas of Fátima and San Giovanni Rotondo, on the façade of the Lourdes Sanctuary, in Madrid Cathedral, in the John Paul II Sanctuary in Krakow, the John Paul II Sanctuary in Washington, and many other important churches.

• Presently, he works in the national shrine of Aparecida in São Paulo, Brazil.

• Rupnik is the director of the Centro Aletti, which John Paul II personally inaugurated in 1993, and for which Francis presided a 2016 Eucharist in the Vatican for the centre which is run by a group of Jesuits and a female Secular Institute. It offers a common life, theological and artistic studies, and publishes books.

• Already in 1995, a consecrated woman reported that she suffered “psycho-physical-spiritual abuse” from Rupnik who “forced me with pressure and blackmail, to do things that I reported in the appropriate forum.”

• "After my first complaint, no one helped me, neither the Community, nor the Ljubljana Archbishop, nor Fr Rupnik's spiritual director [likely: Cardinal Tomáš Špidlík, +2010], with whom I spoke and tried to explain what had happened.”

• The woman was called to testify but no measures were taken.

• Rupnik was confessor and spiritual director in her community which was secretly put under a commissary in 2021 who presented the outcome in January 2022.

• On 3 January 2022, Francis received Rupnik.

• In May 2022, Rupnik preached a retreat to clergy in Larino, Campobasso.

Jesus is present at Mass whether it's the NO or a traditional. The priest whether he is NO or trad has the authority of Jesus. The consecrated body and blood on the alter is that of Jesus. To condemn an entire Mass and call it a cult because of your misunderstanding of what actually happened at V2 is a form of calumny. Spreading falsehoods.

The Pope Paul VI removed the altar and replaced it with Kramer's table, which is protestant.

Indeed @Louis IX!
Everyone should paid attention particularly on the eyes at all his modernistic ugly works. There is nothing sacred in it. On the contrary!

With all due respect his artwork is horrible. The fact he is “highly decorated” is testimony against our Age of Ugliness.

He's a Jesuit. Why is anyone surprised? I'm just glad that the Jesuits are declining as fast as they are...less than 14,000 of them, and almost less that 10,000 Jesuit priests. In a year or two, it is possible that the Salesians (another radical liberal group in swift decline), will knock the Jesuits off the pinnacle as being the largest religious Order. The Salesians also have around the same number, but if the Jesuits declune faster, they'll no longer be #1. Hopefully in 2023/24.
