Kidnapped Bishop Is Free

Auxiliary Bishop Moses Chikwe of Owerri, Nigeria, was released on January 1, the Archdiocese announced.

Chikwe was kidnapped with his driver on December 27.

The traumatic experience left the prelate very weak. His driver was injured and taken to hospital for treatment.

Francis has prayed in his January 1 Angelus for the abducted bishop.
