The Ash Conformity Experiment concluded that while a majority of people conformed to group pressure to give the wrong answer, when there was one person who gave the correct answer it gave confidence to the subject to also give the correct answer and group non-conformity (non-conformity to the incorrect answer) increased. Sometimes all it takes is for one person to speak the truth and others will see it and begin going against the prevailing zeitgeist.
