Former nuncio François Bacqué, 87, died of a heart attack on November 9 at 11am in Via della Scrofanei, Rome, near the ecclesiastical residence where he lived.
According to FaroDiRoma.it, Bacqué was quickly reached by medical personnel, but died shortly after their arrival.
Nevertheless, his body remained on the asphalt, covered with a cloth, until 2pm, when it was taken away in a hearse.
Bacqué served in the papal representations in China, Holland, Chile, Portugal, and Denmark.
