PiusX Priest on Trial
Father Pierre de Maillard, 56, a PiusX priest, will go on trial in secret on May 22 before a Vendée court (SudOuest.fr, May 20).
He is accused of “rape” and “sexual assault” against 16 boys and 11 girls, most of them between 12 and 15 years old at the time of the events (1995-2020). Four cases are on trial.
The case came to light in October 2020 in the Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire priory in Saint-Germain-de-Prinçay (Vendée). De Maillard is in pre-trial detention.
PiusX has filed a civil suit against him. Its legal representative, Solange Doumic, a famous lawyer who defended Archbishop Luigi Ventura said that de Maillard "fooled his superiors" and "managed to present a face so different from his actions." He faces up to 20 years in prison.
