74-year-old Miami Beach Jewish resident Pinchus Feinstein wrote an open letter to the Pope. Feinstein became a Catholic at the age of 17 because he believed that he could only be saved through baptism. But now he heard about the Pope’s teachings on the Jews. Quote: “You now teach that because I am a racial Jew, God’s covenant with me was never broken, and cannot be broken.” And: “You don’t even say that it depends on me being a good person.”
Feinstein quotes from the December 2015 document of the Vatican Commission for Religious Relations with the Jews. Quote: “It does not in any way follow that the Jews are excluded from God’s salvation because they do not believe in Jesus Christ as the Messiah of Israel and the Son of God.”
Feinstein’s conclusion: “I no longer see any point in going to Mass, saying rosaries, or going to confession on Saturday afternoon. All of those acts are superfluous for me. Predicated on your teaching, I now know that due to my special racial superiority in God’s eyes, I don’t need any of it.”
In light of what Francis’ teaching, it appears to Feinstein that the New Testament is a fraud, at least as it applies to Jews. Jesus’ preaching to the Jews was for no purpose. Quote: “Jesus had to know this, yet he persisted in causing a lot of trouble for the Jews by insisting they had to be born again.” And: “Your holiness, you and your Commission have instructed me in the true path to my salvation: my race. God has a covenant with my genes.”
Now Feinstein is suing the Pope: “I want my money back and I am seeking compensation for the psychological harm your Church caused me, by making me think I needed something besides my own exalted racial identity, in order to go to heaven after I die.”

This was an amusing spoof letter posted by Michael Hoffman in his newsletter. Gloria TV obviously took it the wrong way, but to be fair to them, the humour is not immediately evident. However, it becomes unmistakable towards the end.

When He approached Jerusalem, He saw the city and wept over it, saying: "If you hadst known, even now, at least in this your day, the things which belong unto your peace - but now they are hid from thine eyes." Luke 19,41-42
Many years before this Israel had so rejected God and His laws that they were removed from their land. Their house, their city, and their land were desolate for 70 years. And the reason for the 70 years was that for 490 years they had not observed the Sabbaths of the land.
Every 7th year was to be a Sabbath for the land. It was not to be cultivated. But Israel did not do this. So the 70 Sabbatical years were forced on them all at one time. The land was desolate, waste, deserted. The Temple was in ruin.
Now Israel's Messiah had come. The King was in the midst and the Kingdom at hand. But they did not know the time of their visitation. They rejected the King. So His verdict was that their house was to be desolate until such a time as they would say: "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord."
In Matthew 22,2-14 is a parable that warns of these desolations. It tells how that a king made a marriage dinner for his son and then sent out his servants to bid guests. But they would not come. This is the ministry of the Lord and the twelve. So the king sent out other servants and bid them again to come, but they would not come. They treated the servants mercilessly. So the king sent his armies and destroyed these murderers and burned up their city.

Creo en la Iglesia porque no me dejo llevar por los escándalos sino por la Palabra de Dios. Es cierto que hay escándalos en la Iglesia. Ya Jesús lo advirtió. Pero también hay cientos de miles de mártires que han derramado su sangre por Cristo en cada siglo incluso el nuestro. Millones y millones viven su fe inspirados por el Evangelio.

@aderito, I have racked my brain to try to understand why he seems allergic to the notion. The pope would also be wise to recommend Don Reto's Quick Study Catechism!
Pope Francis' personal comments on Jewish conversion are not what the Roman Catholic Church teaches. He is merely supporting ecumenism which was introduced at Vatican II. Who know how credible this "open letter" claims to be. Whenever a pope publicly participates in ecumenical meetings he is saying to the world that the Catholic Church is not the Church which Our Lord founded but just another sect …More
