The beatification of the secularised Dutch Jesuit Frans van der Lugt who was murdered by Western sponsored Jihadists in Syria in 2014, is off the table.
The reason: He didn’t burn enough incense to the altar of the abuse hoax. As CruxNow.com (January 22) puts it, “Around 2009 or 2010, Van der Lugt is accused of having made trivializing statements about sexual abuse within the Catholic Church.”
When asked by Europeans visiting the Jesuits in Homs, Syria, he [who lived in constant mortal danger] said that he thought the attention on Church abuse was exaggerated. He also critically questioned the impact abuse had on victims, as well as their credibility – although, without questioning, true victims cannot be distinguished from pretended ones.
Van der Lugt who was in the Middle East since 1964, never endorsed the Western propaganda against the secular government of President Al-Assad. He was shot to death in Homs on 7 April 2014 when the Jihadists controlled the city.

I was just going to say something like that. My thought was if they'd beatify and canonize Paul VI and someone the likes of Oscar Romero (communist liberation theology advocate), they'll beatify anybody/thing. Why don't I submit to the Congregation for Causes of Saints my dog, who was faithful and devoted for 17 years!
