200M People: Europe Will Lose 26% of Its Population

Over the next 80 years, Central Europe is expected to lose 54% of its population, while Eastern Europe is expected to lose 34%, LeSalonBeige.fr (January 10) writes,

• Bulgaria -63%
• Ukraine -61%
• Poland -60%
• Spain -51%
• Italy -50%

No European country has a replacement fertility rate of 2.1 that would stabilise its population. The average rate is 1.61.
