The resignation of secularised Broome Bishop Christopher Saunders, 71, Australia, raises questions.
Saunders who is very obese, expressed himself for the first time in two years saying, that on his doctor’s advice he concluded that he is “no longer able to adequately serve.”
In 2018 police investigated allegations involving sexual misconduct with young indigenous men which Saunders strongly denied and which were dismissed in May 2021.
There was talk about an internal Church inquiry after the end of the police investigation, but since Saunders belongs to Francis’ conformist party, this will likely not happen.

Another Dumb question.. I go to confession once a month, say Rosary, Chaplet, Seven Sorrows daily. Try to go to Mass when I am well. But since our priest are not doing what they are supposed to, will I still go to hell?! The Mass is still valid, right?
