La Croix: No Document in Preparation against the Roman Mass

Loup Besmond de Senneville reports on La-Croix.com (July 1) that according to "several sources" there is no document in preparation against the Mass of the Roman Rite.

Such rumors were first spread by the usually well-informed blog Rorate-Caeli.blogspot.com on June 17. They are said to have come from one official in the Dicastery for Divine Worship.

The rumors initially spoke of a total "prohibition" of the Roman Rite, then of an exception for institutes dedicated to the Roman Rite.

La-Croix.com responds: "No such document is currently being prepared by the Dicastery for Divine Worship."

"It's all just talk," said a senior Vatican official. The same official denounced the rumors as "fantasy".

Another source said the rumors were completely unfounded.

Just like the SSPX last year said there was no truth to the rumors (confirmed, actually) they were preparing consecrations, but this year suddenly they start preparing the terrain for them. Must have been a sudden inspiration, like John XXIII calling a “council.”

Sages of the Resistance should treat it in a treatise. Such a key question for our times.

Sean. Give it up. Do you not realize that you are not 'converting' people here? If they come to Gloria.tv, they have already found a position. And you make people think you are a troll, or that your 'group' is just nuts. Maybe take a little break.

Also, watch as the Latin Masses are cancelled like shafts of wheat before a storm, without any extra restrictions. See above, for example, Richmond Bishop cancels Latin Mass in Charlottesville. So just another strategy. New Haven, Connecticut; Liverpool and Leeds; LaCrosse, Wisconsin, Bishop Strickland for refusing to cancel Latin Mass...

Contrary to many rumours, no new document from the Dicastery for Divine Worship on the greater restriction of the Traditional Latin Mass is to be published for the time being. According to a report in the French newspaper "La Croix" on Monday, the Vatican has decided not to officially deny the rumours that have been circulating in traditionalist blogs for weeks. It is customary to leave rumours of this kind uncommented so as not to give them any weight, it added. A high-ranking Vatican representative described the rumours about a tightening of restrictions as "gossip" and "completely unfounded".

Or a 'smoke 'em out' strategy. Stay cool, friends, pending further instructions from an authority having jurisdiction in your area!
