Mass Forbidden: Bishop Lied

Corpus Christi Bishop Michael Mulvey, Texas, lied about his reason for forbidding the Roman Mass, Andrew Greenwell, a parishioner in Corpus Christi, told LifeSiteNews.com (April 18).

Mulvey claimed in a letter that the main reason for doing this was the resignation of Father Rodolfo Vasquez as pastor of St John the Baptist.

However, Vasquez said during the Easter Sunday Mass that he had resigned after the bishop had told him that Mass would be forbidden.

Another parishioner corroborated this account. Mass had been celebrated in the parish since 1985, on the basis of an indult granted to Bishop Gracida by John Paul II.

Fr. Vasquez’s former parishioners told LifeSiteNews that the priest had submitted his resignation only after being told by the bishop that the TLM would be discontinued.

After shutting Masses down, which might we not expect from these faithless prelates?
