At the beginning of the funeral service for Benedict XVI, his coffin was carried into St Peter's Square. Archbishop Gänswein knelt before him and kissed him. This was one of the most emotional moments.
The crowd began to pray the rosary. The coffin bore Benedict's papal coat of arms. A Evangeliary was placed on the coffin.
Tens of thousands of people turned out, but St Peter's Square was not full. Ten years of Francis have deeply eroded the Church. 125 cardinals and more than 3,700 priests co-presided. Cardinal Zen attended the funeral after China released his passport for five days.
Francis was brought to the Novus Ordo table in a wheelchair. He used Benedict's crosier and "presided" over the funeral while Cardinal Re functioned behind the table - a division of labour possible for the Novus Ordo (where anything goes) but unthinkable for a Catholic liturgy.
Francis' homily was short and appropriate. He mentioned Benedict's documents and even his virtues: "Benedict, faithful friend of …More

For the people who were benevacantist, are they full sede vacantists now? How does that work?

Also very weird that the man who was denied communion tried to almost bite off the host from the priests fingers.
DJRESQ
That isn't what happened. A closeup video shows that the man, after being denied reception of Holy Communion, kisses the priest's hand, and the priest immediately brushes him away while holding the host.
Sancte Teotónio
Never heard of such thing. Never seen anyone kissing the father's hand after communion. Maybe i am ignorant of that.

I just went thru these pictures, and aside for that ass---- priest who refused to give that faithful man Holy Communion on the tongue, Bergoglio in the picture looked bored to death. He is being trashed around the world for his performance and his horrible homily supposedly honoring (but not really) Benedict XVI. I hope this outrage brings him and his people down.
Now he's even more hated in Italy …More

Now he's even more hated in Italy.....so are all his bishops and cardinals.
Tagle is only going to be 66, but he looked 76. HHAhAhAHAHA😂🤪😉

Lisa, the “horrors of the past decade” grew out of the Second Vatican Council. As such, they could never “overshadow” it. And not only did Pope Benedict fail to denounce a single one of those many errors of Vatican II, he doubled down on many of them over the years.
Lisi Sterndorfer
Abp Vigano honors Benedict for Summorum Pontificum, but regrets that the Pope never regretted his errors of his youth (Council): "The delicta juventutis were unfortunately never formally disavowed, although the horrors of the past decade have almost overshadowed them."

Deny a man Communion for kneeling to receive? What a creep of a priest!
Darrell J Roman
Pope Benedict XVI would have put that priest on the carpet and scolded him for such an act... A Modernist who follows Francis.

For sure Santo Subito is the most popular saint in post-conciliar times.

“Dear friends, may no adversity paralyze you. Be afraid neither of the world, nor of the future, nor of your weakness. The Lord has allowed you to live in this moment of history so that, by your faith, his name will continue to resound throughout the world.” - Pope Benedict XVI

As the last major player of Vatican II is laid to rest today, it is perhaps worth recalling how very close we are to this event passing entirely out of living memory: only 5 Council Fathers are still alive

Carlo Maria Martini was buried with the PALLIUM, but Benedict was denied that honor

No Roman Canon either... Yuk-eristic Prayer III

Martini was filth. I saw that man being refused Holy Communion. He was right to walk away. Francis looked unwell, and coughed alot. Maybe he is sick. The Mass I thought was not that bad. The music was beautiful, especially 1-2 hymns that sounded like early Italian Renaissance motets. The altar looked 100% Catholic. They had closed off so much of the Square for the Christmas display that alot of people couldn't attend. But Benedict did get close to 300,000 people viewing his body in 3 days, M-T-W, and that was much more than the Vatican had hoped for.

The homily was a disgrace to Pope Benedict! But what does one expect that broke the heart of Pope Benedict XVI.

@Just me How do you know? I believe the messages of Trevignano are credible. Let @Kenjiro M. Yoshimori decide for himself
petrus100452
@Just me You are free to do what you "must" do (sounds rather compulsive...). Indeed, I want to believe them because they are very consistent with the prophecies of all credible prophets of our time, including Mary. The near future will prove their authenticity. The present situation of the Church and the world already proves their authenticity. You just have to open your eyes and see...

@Just me In the end I will be safe because I trust in Jesus. In Jesus and His Mother. That is what the prophets (f.i. Gisella Cardia) are calling to do. For what should I be sorry? For what do you think you must warn the people? For not to persevere in praying? For not to believe in Jesus' coming? For not to be disturbed when all kind of catastrophes fall upon the world (and the Church)? The words …More

You may run the risk that you will be sorry not having listened to the prophetic call in our time.

@petrus100452 If you believe in Jesus, He warned us of the false prophets, who would make wonders, make "prophecies" and even cast out demons. Those would deceive even the elect. Our security is following church teaching and the infallible teaching of the Popes. If you follow "apparitions" or "visionaires" that are not confirmed by church, you most likely are asking to be deceived. Those visionaires …More

Our security is following church teaching and the infallible teaching of the Popes. If you follow "apparitions" or "visionaires" that are not confirmed by church, you most likely are asking to be deceived. Those visionaires seem very religious and their "messages" seems very true, but then since they are copycating, it happens that their messages includes their own theological mistakes and that's how we know that they are fake. Since the average catholic is not a theologian (and doesn't have to be), many end up caught in the lie.
petrus100452
@Sancte Teotónio Could you please tell me what Gisella Catrdia's theological mistakes are. Btw: I hold a license in theology (that is no guarantee , of course, but you cannot accuse me of theological ignorance...).

The only thing i need to know is that those messages are approved by the Church or at least by the local Bishop? Does she have the Bishops authorization to publish the alleged messages?
Its everything i need to know, if not i don't even care.More
