Nativity Scene 2021: Is the Crazy Vatican Running out of Craziness? (Video)

The 2021 nativity scene in St. Peter's Square will display popular motifs and local animals from the Huancavelica region, Peru.

It is made up of more than 30 pieces and figures made of ceramic, maguey- fibre and fibreglass which wear typical Andean clothing.

Compared to last year, the scene seems to contain less craziness except a model railway which drives around the nativity scene, and a winged shepherd.

However, knowing the crazy Vatican, nothing can be taken for granted all the more that Francis beloved Pachamama hails from the same area.

Does anyone in the Vatican even know what the word "devotional" means?

Will the condor be a full time drone?
P.S. I hope the llamas won't spit on the Infant.

It is not real and according to the NT, so it's fake...like NO.

More nod to the "peoples" over the Faith. Note: animals are featured more than actual humans (environmentalism?) Remember , the Nativity is about the Word taking on human nature in order to redeem it. Plus the traditional sheep, ox, & ass have spiritual allusions in Catholic spirituality. By taking Christ's Nativity out of its historical context, and introducing other creatures - rather than making it relevant, you make it abstract. Kind of like that terrible "hipster" manger scene with cell phones, 'man-buns' and selfies. Interesting in this video some dude was just chatting on his phone in front of this supposedly religious display. Verdict - it doesn't invoke devotion, just curiosity.

It’s going to be so easy for Jorge Francis to slip a pachamama in there.

There is a great element of honesty alluded to here: It's a train wreck!

I watched the video three times, but I couldn't find a m"winged shepherd". In fact, I couldn't find a shepherd at all...
