Hypocrisy: Three Swiss Bishops Pretend That "Only Priests" Can Preside Eucharists

Three Swiss bishops, Bonnemain (Chur), Gmür (Basel) and Büchel (Sankt Gallen), issued a hypocritical January 5 letter claiming that only priests can preside at the Novus Ordo Eucharist and administer the Novus Ordo anointing of the sick.

The statement follows a laywoman "co-presiding a eucharist and is addressed to lay pastoral workers in particular. It is highly likely that the text was published to please some Roman dicastery.

Lay administering the Novus Ordo anointing of the sick as well as lay presiding and co-presiding the Novus Ordo eucharist has been going on for decades in these dioceses under the eyes of the bishops. They have done nothing about it and they will continue doing nothing.
