Sister Beatrice Priori told LaNuovaBQ.it (May 10) the story of the blood-soaked T-shirt worn by John Paul II on 13th May 1981, the day he was shot by Ali Agca.
• The shirt, made by HANRO, a Swiss manufacturer of underwear, is kept in Regina Mundi, the former provincial house of the Sisters of Charity.
• It was rescued by Anna Stanghellini, a former novice of the Sisters of Charity who left to become a nurse at the Gemelli Clinic.
• After her retirement, she returned to the Sisters because she was alone.
• In March 2000, Anna gave Sister Beatrice a white bundle with an envelope on it and said: “Here is the T-shirt that John Paul II wore on the day of the assassination attempt.”
• Before the operation, the cotton shirt was cut off and thrown on the floor together with the blood-soaked gauze.
• Anna wrapped everything in clean gauze and in a white towel and put it in her locker, without telling anyone.

Do you really think he was a saint? So many people don't. I'm pretty well sure, by the way he did his job as Pope, that he was a very good man, devout. But not a Saint. Pius XII was a Saint. John Paul II more than lkely was/is not.

Well, I don't know. One of the "biggest" miracles of my life was during the period of mourning when I was praying in a tiny chapel while traveling. I suppose "non saints" have had a huge impact on my life.
