Ireland’s leftist president Michael Higgins linked the June 5 massacre that killed 50 Catholics in Ondo Diocese, Nigeria, to "climate change."
More than 120 people suffered injury. The gunmen were Muslims. Higgins wrote on June 7 that “the solidarity of us all, as peoples of the world, is owed to all those impacted not only by this horrible event but in the struggle by the most vulnerable on whom the consequences of climate change have been inflicted.”
Ondo Bishop Jude Ayodeji Arogundade replied in a June 10 note (below) that alluding to some form of politics of climate change in our situation was “incorrect," "far-fetched," and "completely inappropriate.”
He appealed to “those who are trying to take advantage of this horrific event to project any form of ideological agenda, to desist from such opportunism." Interlinking climate change is "exactly rubbing salt to the injuries of all who have suffered terrorism in Nigeria."

In response to Irish president Michael Higgins argument blaming 'climate change' for the terrorist attack that happened in Nigeria which killed over 50 Christians, Ondo Bishop Jude Arogundade said that the massacre at the church has nothing to do with climate change.
