The Vaticanista Marco Tosatti reports on First Things a disconcerting episode in the middle of 2013 involving Pope Francis and Cardinal Ludwig Gerhard Müller.
The cardinal was celebrating Mass for a group of German students and scholars in the church near the palace of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith when his secretary came up to the altar, “The pope wants to speak to you.” Müller replied, “Did you tell him I am celebrating Mass?”. “Yes,” said the secretary, “but he says he does not mind — he wants to talk to you all the same.”
The cardinal interrupted Mass and went to Francis who, in a very bad mood, gave him some orders and a dossier concerning one of his friends, a cardinal.

Most priests, and I suspect prelates as well do not understand how serious it is to interrupt Mass. I have seen priests leave the sanctuary during Mass. I was as a Mass where after the consecration, someone in the congregation had a medical emergency. The priest joined in on helping the individual and even leaving the sanctuary. Two things... 1. Most priests, and I suspect prelates as well do not understand how serious it is to interrupt Mass. I have seen priests leave the sanctuary during Mass. I was as a Mass where after the consecration, someone in the congregation had a medical emergency. The priest joined in on helping the individual and even leaving the sanctuary. Two things... 1. He probably was never told that it he is to never interrupt the Mass and 2. He didn't have enough trust in others to help the individual and contact 911.

Why would any priest, let alone a Cardinal interrupt the Holy Sacrifice because someone was so rude and arrogant and disrespectful as humble papa francis?/????

I am a surgeon and when my professor calls me during operation he has to wait as long as I have performed the "sacrifice" and the patient is well.
