Cardinal Robert Sarah wrote on HommeNouveau.fr (May 8) about "Covid-19 and Christian worship," only one day after, in an embarrassing move, he withdrew his signature from the Viganò Appeal.
Nevertheless, the article remained in the shadow of the latter, and was widely ignored. It refers three times positively to Francis who said that virtual Masses cannot replace the physical presence, and that priests must not become show masters.
Sarah also commends Francis' Eucharistic adoration in St Peter's square as an example, but hushes up that Francis himself didn't participate in the adoration as he again refused to adore/kneel.
The cardinal complains about a "secularised mentality" which considers religion as a secondary activity. “This perspective is radically false," Sarah protests, but again: The "secularised mentality" was produced by a secularised liturgy which treats God like one among many.
