A second non-Catholic bishop, Baselios Marhoma Mathews III, Catholicos of the Syro-Malankar Orthodox Church, India, will "celebrate" a liturgy in the Roman Saint Paul Outside-the-Walls Basilica on September 10, writes VaticanNews.va (September 8). The next day, he will meet Francis. For Novus Ordo gatherings, the Vatican strictly avoids the term "celebrate" replacing it with the secularising term "preside". Had Mathews been a faithful Catholic priest who wanted to celebrate the Roman Rite that made Rome what it somehow still is today, Francis would have forbidden him to do so.
