Scandal Abbot Suspends Monk - for Preaching "Valid Catholic Doctrine"
Father Joachim Wernersbach recalled some basics of Christian morality in his sermon at midnight mass in Wittichenau, Germany (video below).
Wernersbach belongs to the Benedictine Abbey of Tholey, the oldest monastery on German soil, and has been working as a temporary chaplain in Wittichenau since July 2021.
"There are so many strange modern currents," he noted, "You hear about gender and transgender, transhumanism and reproductive health, wokeness and LGBTIQ, diversity and identity, multiple genders and gender reassignment, plus this devastating new understanding of revelation from the Synodal Way."
Wernersbach especially wished those who uphold the family extra-great joy this Christmas, "because they won't be swayed and will not pay homage to harmful modern trends."
Shortly after, a homosex activist began raging against him on the internet. Her efforts gathered just 500 signatures. The agitator was honest enough to admit that she had also faced criticism and that Wernersbach was simply preaching Church doctrine.
Nevertheless, the monk was summoned to his abbey for a "conversation" on Tuesday. The result: Abbot Mauritius Choriol, a former cook from Alsace, "forbade" the zealous priest any pastoral activity. This is a de facto suspension and an obvious abuse of power.
Choriol also distanced himself in the strongest terms from the teachings of Jesus Christ proclaimed by Father Wernersbach. His pamphlet was distributed by Katholisch.de, the homosexualist website of the German “bishops." Choriol says, for example, about Fr Wernersbach:
"We expressly reject the [Christian] image of man presented by him and the [correct] statements he made about creation. We regret the [demonic] anger, suffering and dismay this has caused."
And: "The assessments made by our confrere and the [alleged] lack of pastoral empathy not only contradict social reality, but also discriminate in many ways against large sections of society [= homosex regime], for example in the image of women, in the understanding of family and also towards queer [sic] fellow human beings as well as the LGBT community [sic]."
This is true "also notwithstanding the valid Catholic teaching", Choriol discarded Christ, whose teachings Wernersbach had preached.
St Paul confronts Choriol in 1 Cor 6:9 with the following statement: "Do not be deceived: neither fornicators nor male abusers will enter the kingdom of heaven."
