Cardinal Accuses Bishops of Error
The homosex "blessing" made up by the Belgian bishops is wrongheaded, Nigerian Cardinal Francis Arinze, former Liturgy Prefect, told InsideTheVatican.com (September 26).
He called this error "an error" on the part of the bishops. Arinze reminds that Scripture identifies homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity (Gen 19:1-29; Rom 1:24-27; 1 Cor 6:10; 1 Tim 1:10), and quotes the Catechism that Tradition “has always declared that homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.”
Bishops should bless properly married unions of one man and one woman, "not homosexual couples."
“Human beings have no power to change the order established by God the Creator,” he stressed adding that the Church’s mission “includes calling people to repentance, sacrifice, chastity and perfection.”
