I note that the falling birth rate and associated low net fertility rate don't get a mention at all. Just not on Card. Marx's horizon. The Swedes, the French, the Russians have all seen the problem and have begun to try to do something about it but in Germany (as, it appears, in much of Europe and the West) it's a case of 'problem, what problem?'
