After Criticism: Porsche Apologises

German automaker Porsche has apologised on Youtube.com for retouching away the well-known Portuguese Christo Rei statue from a commercial.

A revised version now shows the statue (below). Porsche explains that in a previous version “a landmark” was removed, “This was a mistake, and we apologise for any offence caused.”

The company responded only after strong criticism from Catholics, including in several posts on Gloria.tv.

To me their acknowledgement is encouraging. They made a mistake, and they corrected their mistake. A car ad...does it really matter? Yes! It does! We need to speak up.

More gaslighting! They know they can get away with it, and they do! But not for long. They are so mocking us, but their time is short. Come to think of it so is ours! Our Lady of Fatima, pray fo us!
