Cruel Bishop: Priest Suspended for Saying Latin Novus Ordo

Without a specific accusation, Spanish born Alajuela Bishop Bartolomé Buigues Oller, 58, Costa Rica, suspended Father Sixto Varela Santamará who was responsible for the Roman Mass until the Costa Rica bishops "forbad" it after Traditionis Custodes.

As a consequence, Father Varela changed to the Latin Novus Ordo Eucharist.

On August 19, he was informed of his removal and that he is "not allowed" to celebrate Mass publicly for the next six months. The aim of this measure is likely to leave Varela's group without Mass and to disperse it in this way. Below are pictures from the previous Roman Mass group.

This group bore spectacular fruits, among them a dozen (sic!) priestly vocations, three of them in the Fraternity of St Peter which points at the reason for the bishop's attack on Varela: clerical envy.

On June 30, the diocese had congratulated Varela for the 20th anniversary of his priestly ordination.
