The bishops of Guyana and the French West Indies reject Francis' homosexual propaganda piece "Fiducia Supplicans" in a statement on 19 January.
They declare that - in order to avoid any confusion - priests should bless people who ask for a spontaneous blessing without preconditions, but cannot "bless" adulterous or homosexual couples.
They refer to "many" bishops' conferences that have done the same before them. The South American bishops are members of the French Bishops' Conference.
