Classic California stupidity. This bill is going to be a Laff-O-Lympics from start to finish. Truly. Nothing for concern. The bill was introduced (no surprises) by a Democrat, but that's where the problems start. California is heavily Democrat-controlled. California Democrats are dependent on minority votes. The largest California minority group is Latino and Latinos are (wait for it) almost entirely Catholic. How many Democrat politicians want to risk angering their largest single voting bloc?

Even if this somehow passed, there will be an immediate legal challenge which will easily reach the US Supreme Court. The Court is now firmly Republican-controlled. Republican ideology traditionally favors individual liberties over big-government and (here it comes) there's a staunchly Catholic Justice who was recently appointed.

...and just for amusement sake,
All the decades of legal precedent about "separation of church and state" still applies. How deliciously ironic. The same left-wing, anti-Christian US judges who made such rulings trying to erase The Church's influence on US culture have unintentionally undermined their latest attempt to do so.
