Cdl. Gregory cancels first post-Roe Youth Rally and Mass for Life ahead of 2023 march: "After a consultation process that involved dialogue with other dioceses, ministry leaders and the partners who assist the Archdiocese in hosting the annual Rally and Mass, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington has decided not to move forward with hosting the larger multi-Diocese Rally."

"And Francis knew it when he named him" I always knew Gregory was a queer. His mentor, the infamous and notorious Cardinal Bernardin, was an active homo too. Bernardin was, and Gregory is, all part of the same (unfortunatly large), McCarrick club in the Church....mostly all pro-homo, pro-Vatican II, pro-Francis guys in their early-mid 70's to 80's....with manybe a small minscule number in late 60'…More

Having been to this mass once or twice when Wuerl was in charge, I can say that it’s not much of a loss. The music was awful “rock band” stuff. There was no reverence at all, beginning with the celebrant. It was in a sports arena, after all. Imagine how irreverent the distribution of Holy Communion was. I worked with "youth" (some were pushing 40!) and the "March for Life" while well-intentioned appealing to the latent sense of idealism in young people, was really more like a combination of spring break 'road trip' [minus nice weather] and youth festival. The attendees I spoke to just talked about all the tourist places they visited and restaurants they ate at. Some fit …More

Yes it was a bit of a mess. I worked with "youth" (some were pushing 40!) and the "March for Life" while well-intentioned appealing to the latent sense of idealism in young people, was really more like a combination of spring break 'road trip' [minus nice weather] and youth festival. The attendees I spoke to just talked about all the tourist places they visited and restaurants they ate at. Some fit in a sporting event. One chaperone told me she had to be extra vigilant so there wouldn't be any 'romantic' interactions between the boys & girls - if you get my drift.

It was a lot like those World Youth Day gatherings: good idea, bad execution.

Let’s just say, priests were worried about it occasioning sacramental administration, in about 9 months, due to behavior observed aboard ship. Thankfully, I don’t think that event was repeated. I also remember hearing about a father with his two sons at world youth day in Poland, asking where the ice cream cart was, when …More

Let’s just say, priests were worried about it occasioning sacramental administration, in about 9 months, due to behavior observed aboard ship. Thankfully, I don’t think that event was repeated. I also remember hearing about a father with his two sons at world youth day in Poland, asking where the ice cream cart was, when touring Auschwitz. If they want to have a fruitful pilgrimage, it may not be the best idea to invite everyone who can afford the trip.
