The Italian Ministry of Finance published the data on the eight per thousand for the tax year 2021 on 13 July. As usual, around 40% of taxpayers donated eight per thousand of their tax revenue to a specific cause. In 2021, 11,590,321 did so for the benefit of the Church. This figure has been falling since Francis was elected in 2013. The losses have now added up to 31.37% of the signatures.
