Rumour: Charlotte Bishop Wants to Restrict Latin in Novus Ordo

According to the Substack-Account The Pillar (27 May), Bishop Michael Martin, 63, of Charlotte, North Carolina, is currently working on an anti-liturgical instruction. It would:

- restrict the use of Latin in the Novus Ordo
- seemingly prohibit the ad orientem celebration of the Eucharist
- eliminate the use of altar benches for receiving Communion while kneeling.

Bishop Martin has recently become infamous worldwide for abolishing the Roman Mass in four parishes by July, while allowing it to continue at only one site: a former Protestant temple.

In January, he removed the altar benches from a parish where they had been used for over a decade.

Until Bishop Martin's appointment in April 2024, the Diocese of Charlotte was one of the most thriving in the United States.

Sally Dorman shares this

Charlotte diocese says controversial LEAKED liturgy letter was only a draft. The document included proposed RESTRICTIONS on Latin, kneeling for Holy Communion, veiling, and much more.

Yes @Sally Dorman That is what all these occult players do, they "leak" a letter that was only a "draft" then they use the ensuing conversation to move their satanic goal posts. God bless you!

I super hate that picture! So impure! God bless you!

A clown trying to turn Holy Mother Church into a circus. 😖

I hope the SSPX expands in North Carolina

I would rather attend the Tridentine Mass in English than the Novus Ordo in Latin.

Rorate Caeli has posted a letter (purportedly from the bishop to the priests of the diocese of Charlotte). It reads like a modernist liturgical nightmare. Example: no ringing of the bell to signal the congregation to stand for the entry procession, instead an emcee will invite people to stand and sing. Quite frankly the letter is so bad that I think it might be a hoax? (He insults those on the “periphery” who he claims will never understand words in the Latin language, who writes something like that?). In a way this is a blessing. It is so awful and will affect so many Catholics that the blowback will be absolutely enormous.

Louis IX

Hopefully this will wake up the reverent NO parishioners as well. It is not just the TLM that modernists are after. If you like your reverent NO you may not be able to keep it. They (modernists) want a protestantised church cleansed of all that nasty pious Catholicism.

Louis IX

I think that was one of the Eucharist Prayers in the NO, (the napkin story) but I understand the thought behind the complaint. However the vast majority of Catholics who consider themselves “conservative” attend what they believe to be reverent NOs and bishops like this will help these “conservatives” to understand the situation in the Church.

So, you see, its not Novus Ordo that they want, they are targeting Jesus, they want to degrade Him. Ultimately, they want to facilitate abomination of desolation, cancellout the Eucharist and evict Jesus from His churches.

One of the clearest indicators of faggotry.

DJRESQ

This bishop should be confronted by the priests and people en masse.
From the letter:
"Immediately upon receiving the Eucharist, either the sacred host and/or the precious blood, there is no need to bow or genuflect to the altar or tabernacle, nor to make the sign of the cross. Similarly, after returning to your seat, the posture of kneeling or sitting for reflection, prayer and song are both equally advantageous.
"It is normative in our Church that when the Blessed Sacrament is exposed, and/or the Tabernacle opened, that we remain kneeling if possible. However, the moments immediately following the reception of the Eucharist by the faithful are unique. In that moment, we all become the Body of Christ in the greatest manner possible on this earth. It is the very reason for which Jesus offered us his Body and Blood.
"To place greater attention on the Eucharist in ciboria being distributed and later returned to the Tabernacle than on the Eucharist we have all become, is to misunderstand the power of the Body of Christ and the purpose for which Jesus has shared his body and blood with us."

Louis IX

These type of restrictions are against Vatican II instructions on liturgical reform. He hates Vatican II!

This is a mockery of Catholicism. And some were absolutely furious that a retouched photo of Trump as pope was published!
