Which of us has not done this? If one confesses a sin without determination to at least try and not commit it again, the confession is in vain.

Scott Hahn once complained to his priest that he had the same confession every time he went. The priest responded, "What do you want Scott, new sins?" Sure we need to overcome every sin and there is no excuse, but be glad you if you don't pick up "new sins".

@michael newman He is a former protestant minister convert to Catholicism. He has written two books I heartily endorse, Hail Mary, and The Father who keeps His promises! He is very Novus Ordo but his writings seem to be sound.
