Archbishop on the Street (Video)
The bishops of Togo have learned “with pain and indignation” of a recent video showing retired Lomé Archbishop Philippe Kpodzro, 93 (Koaci.com, November 26).
Sitting in a wheelchair in the corridor of a building alongside his personal belongings, Kpodzro says in the video:
"For some time now I have been warning you that I am in difficulty, and I have no place to stay and nothing to eat. Well today, here I am on the street, the hotel where I was temporarily staying has thrown me out".
Kpodzro left Togo shortly after the February 2020 presidential election, first for Ghana and then for Sweden. He had campaigned for the opposition.
From August 1991 to February 1994, he was president of the Togolese parliament.
