Sex and Money: Catholic Community Project Ruined Before It Started

Kari Beckman, the foundress of a Catholic village project, called Veritatis Splendor, in Tyler Diocese, East Texas, has acknowledged an extramarital affair and moved out of the project's ranch.

She is now living in Atlanta. SimchaFisher.com (November 15) writes that Beckman had an affair with Jim Graham, the head of the Catholic Texas Right to Life. They are both married [Amoris Laetitia will take care of them].

Beckman was also the executive director of Regina Caeli Academy, a Catholic home-school program where she also stepped down.

After an anonymous letter denouncing the affaire, Beckman acknowledged “a terrible lapse in judgment with a personal relationship.” She said having confessed the sin to God and to her husband.

Now, donors ask for an investigation into Beckman’s finances as the anonymous letter alleged that she hand-picked the Regina Caeli board to use Regina Caeli money for personal needs, and to hide her financial activities from the families who donated money.

As for the village, after a $3 million loan, not a single structure has been built on the land.
