Nick Lusito and his wife visited Saint Patrick’s Basilica in Ottawa, Canada, recently on a Sunday for private prayer, just before a Mass was about to start.
He told LifeSiteNews.com (June 15) that for health conditions he is exempted of masking himself. However, Lusito was asked to leave by a church employee - but continued to pray. A legalistic and rigid Father Stephen Amesse, the basilica's associate rector, arrived and asked Lusito “very rudely” to leave.
He replied that he wanted to finish his prayers. After that, police officers showed up and escorted Lusito outside. His wife filmed the scene.
At the end, a policeman told Lusito that “we don’t really have anything to charge you with” and let him go. Lusito later complained to Ottawa Archbishop Marcel Damphousse, 58, and received a polite apology.

It did not sound to me like the priest in question was being rude. I also heard the 'afflicted' parishioner curse...in the church. As well, for someone with health conditions which he used as a reason to avoid mask-wearing, he had a booming voice and no breathing issues could be detected.

Priest is not the owner of the church, similarly Francis is not owner of the Church. Unfortunately, they both think opposite...
BTW this is open terror of faithful, even commies didn't do this.

Priest is the official delegated authority of the church by the owner, namely the diocese. In this context, he's just like the store manager in a chain of supermarkets.
"even commies didn't do this"
History shows they did far worse. Read this, and this, and this, and this for the Chinese approach.More

All real scientists have said that masks dont work

There are many, many scientific studies making it very clear masks cause irreparable harm. This isn't about science, it is about compliance, and a power grab, and fear.

...always has been. ;-)

This is the same Priest who was accused of sexually assaulting a 14 year old boy. Although found not guilty the judge said there was not enough evidence to come to a guilty verdict beyond a reasonable doubt - however the Priest did give the boy monetary gifts and a body shaver. He denied the wrongdoing. Still troubling because it reeks of grooming.

Another one of these guys. :D "for health conditions he is exempted of masking himself." Betcha he wears one when he needs to buy groceries. ;-) Because getting thrown out of every grocery store isn't an option.

If the priest was annoyed at having his authority defied in church, little wonder.... , especially since he was in fact upholding the diocese's official Covid policy.

"At the end, a policeman told Lusito that 'we don’t really have anything to charge you with' and let him go."

...because he complied with the police's order to leave. Obviously, he wasn't willing to argue the legal validity of his health exemption before a judge. Can't imagine why. ;-)

In Ontario, in Ottawa, as well as in most places in North America, there are exemptions for the mask; if you have a medical exemption you are not required to wear a mask - not in a Church, not in Loblaws, not in any situation. And shame, shame on those of us who think we need to act on behalf of the powers that be, and act like enforcers! To demand that someone whit an exemption wear a mask in discriminatory.

Clearly, that isn't a problem for the diocese. ;-) Worth notiing, Mr. Lusito understood his "medical exemption" wouldn't withstand close and official scrutiny. There are a lot of self-administered exemptions these days and they're the reason venues are cracking down. It's always "that guy" who ends up being "this why we can't have nice things."

"Shame on that priest, who dared to contravene the law..."

None cited, unless citing yourself counts, Mr. Mason. :P

"To demand that someone whit an exemption wear a mask in discriminatory."

Suggestion: either start linking and citing "the law" verbatim where it explicitly says so, or stick to re-runs of The People's Court.

...but some business owners are above the law...The mask is a must.

Unfortunately, priests who act like enforcers of the power elite cannot be thrown out. There are many priests who have stood up to the Freemasons/power elite and have demanded that they be allowed to continue to offer worship services to the faithful, and to push back against clearly unlawful orders.
